Bitfinex Re-lists DASH Because of 'Increased Demand from Customers'

Bitfinex, a cryptocurrency exchange based in Hong Kong, announced today it has re-added privacy-focused digital currency, DASH. In August of 2015, Bitfinex removed DASH, which was called Darkcoin at that time, citing “persistently low demand.”

Bitfinex’s about-face was prompted by DASH’s rapid ascension to $50 and $400+ million market capitalization. This week’s rally to $50 also made DASH the third most valuable cryptocurrency in the world - second only to Ethereum, which currently trades at $19.50:
“Due to increased demand from customers and a maturity of the technology, Bitfinex is happy to announce we are adding Dash to our trading platform.”
Although margin trading is not available at press time, Bitfinex said it will be activated “in the coming days.”
