The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) has warned Canadian residents about numerous unlicensed Forex & CFDs brokers this month.
The latest bulletins from the OSC on October 7th warn Canadians about CFD Capital Markets (cfdcapmkt.com), a Morocco-based CFD broker, and Apex One Trading Group (apexonetg.com), an FX spot and options broker based in Panama.
The OSC states:
“CFD Capital Markets, SARL doing business as http://cfdcapmkt.com is not registered in Ontario, Canada to engage in the business of trading in securities.”Ontario’s financial watchdog has also warned about another unregistered broker on October 6: Bulgarian-based Nemesis Capital BG Limited, which does business under the domain alfatrade.com.
Since the beginning of 2016, the OSC has warned Canadians about 18 unregistered Forex and CFD outfits. The agency started compiling data on unlicensed financial firms in January of 2011, with the help of complaints from investors and information received from other international regulators.
